D Endorsement

By being the holder of a Dangerous Goods Endorsement, you will be able to transport Dangerous Goods for payment. The Dangerous Goods Endorsement includes a day of theory training in class. Participants will complete unit standard 16718 which will also be registered on the NZQA framework.

Description

By holding this Endorsement you will be able to transport Dangerous goods for hire or reward. You will also be able to transport Dangerous Goods as tools-of-trade. If you are transporting Dangerous Goods as tools-of-trade below a set limit or for domestic/recreational purposes you do not need a Dangerous Goods Endorsement. Dangerous Goods are substances that have explosive, flammable, toxic, infectious, corrosive or environmentally hazardous properties, and also includes containers that have previously held dangerous goods.

Prerequisites

A Dangerous Goods Endorsement is suited towards anyone who wants to handle Dangerous Goods for road transport. There is no prerequisites other than the correct class of licence for the vehicle transporting the Dangerous Goods.

Similar courses

By completing this course you will be able to drive special type vehicles (excluding forklifts) on the road. This includes vehicles that run on rollers, (as covered by the R Endorsement), vehicles on self-laying tracks (T Endorsement) and wheeled special type vehicles excluding forklifts (W Endorsement). The course runs for half a day. It includes a theory session at the beginning, and a practical session later on. The course covers the basic use of these vehicles.
